Objects in the IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository
Extensive Versioning and Search Support
The repository provides comprehensive object versioning and sea r ch capa
bilities. For example ,
suppose that you create a stream and store it in the rep ository where it can be shared with
researchers from other divisions. If you later update the stream in SPSS Modeler, you can add
the updated version to the repository without overwriting the previous v
ersion. All versio ns
remain accessible and can be searched by name, label, elds used, o r other attributes. You could,
for examp le, search for all model ve r sions that use net revenue as an input, or all mode ls created
by a particular author. (To do this with a traditional le system, you woul
d have to save each
version under a different lename, and the relatio nships between versions would be unknown
to the s oftware.)
Single Sign-On
The single sign-on feature enab les users to connect to the repository without having to enter
username and password detai ls each time. The user ’s existing local network login details provide
the necess ary authentication to IBM SPSS Collabora tion and Deployment Services. This feature
depends on the following:
IBM SPSS Collab ora tion and De ployment Services must be congured to use a single sign-on
provider.
The user m ust be logged in to a host that is compatible with the provider.
