Interferenc
e with Other Software
When testing IBM® SPSS® Modeler with sc r een readers, such as JAWS, our development team
discovered that the use of a S ystems Management Server (SMS) within your organization may
interfere with JAWS’ ability to read Java-based application s, such as SPSS Modeler. Disabling
SMS will correct this situ ation. Visit the Microsoft website for more info r mation on SMS.
JAWS and Java
Different versions of J AWS provide varying levels of support for Java-based software applications.
Although I
BM® SPSS® Modeler will work with all recent versions of JAWS, some versions may
have minor pro blems when used with Java-ba sed systems. Visit the JAWS fo r Windows website
at http://www.FreedomScientic.com.
Using Graphs in IBM SPSS Modeler
Visual displays of information, such as histograms, evaluat ion charts, multiplots, and scatterplots,
are difcult to interpret with a screen reader. Please n ote, howeve r, that web graphs and
distributions can be viewed using the textual s ummary available from the output window.
