ADD A SWITCHER
Use Add a Switcher to add matrix switchers and Genex multiplexers to the system configuration.
General Information
Name: Enter a switcher name (up to 64 characters). This name can contain letters, numbers, and symbols.
Location: Enter a short description of the switcher’s physical location (up to 255 characters).
Description: Enter any other relevant information, such as the serial number (up to 255 characters).
Make and Model
Manufacturer: Select Pelco.
Model: Select the appropriate switcher model.
Device Addressing
Switchers that are controlled serially through the VMX210 communication port must be addressed to ensure proper communication with the
system.
Select Manual Addressing, and enter an address number corresponding to the address (DIP switch setting) on the switcher itself. If more than
one switcher is installed on the same serial line (such as in a daisy-chain configuration), each switcher must have a unique address.
NOTE: For the CM9760 switcher the address must match the PIN number of the CM9760-KBD. For the Genex multiplexer the address must
match the GenexUnit ID number (for example, Unit ID 1 = address 1).
Video Inputs and Outputs
Number of Video Inputs/
Number of Video Outputs: Enter the number of video input and output connections on the switcher. If necessary, refer to the
switcher’s installation/operation manual.
Physical/Logical Mapping: This optional feature provides a means of assigning a non-sequential numbering system to the physical
inputs and outputs of a matrix switcher. Note, however, that this VMX210 mapping information cannot be
transmitted to the matrix switcher.
Control Ports
Number of Switcher
Control Serial Ports: Enter the number of switcher control ports.
Number of Camera
Control Serial Ports: Enter the number of camera control ports on the switcher.
ADD AN EXTERNAL MONITOR
The VMX210 quad workstation (VMX210-SYS-Q) can support multiple external monitors connected to any output port on an external switcher or
an available output port on the VMX210.
General Information
Name: Enter a monitor name (up to 64 characters). This name can contain letters, numbers, and symbols.
Location: Enter a short description of the monitor’s physical location (up to 255 characters).
Description: Enter any other relevant information, such as the serial number (up to 255 characters).
