Optional Duplexer
The optional duplexer allows you to print double-sided copy
automatically, rather than by feeding pages manually.
Guidelines for using the Duplexer
Follow these guidelines when using the duplexer to prevent paper
jams and ensure the highest quality output.
• Use the duplexer for A3, A4, B4, letter, legal, and ledger size of
16 - 28 lb bond (60 - 105 g/m
2
) weight paper.
• Do not use the duplexer for media other than paper or for A5,
B5, executive, statement or oversized (larger than 11.00" x
17.00" [279 mm x 432 mm]) paper.
• Avoid using recycled paper in the duplexer. Recycled paper may
absorb moisture which can cause the paper to wrinkle or fold.
This can result in paper jams.
• RAM requirements for duplexing depend on the paper size and
printing resolution. See “Printer Memory Requirements” in
chapter 9.
• The optional duplexer is available only for 20 ppm printers. It
cannot be used on printers that have the 2400 dpi or NEIT
upgrades installed.
