Workstation Setup
To retrieve scanned document, install the scan driver on Windows computers or
activate CentreWare Internet Services. For more information about the operating
environment for the scan driver and the installation method, refer to the HTML
document in CentreWare Utilities CD-ROM. For more information how to retrieve the
document, refer to the CentreWare Internet Services chapter of the User Guide.
Scan using Template (Network Scanning) Setup
Information Checklist
Before enabling the feature, make sure that the following items are available or have
been performed. If Kerberos has been enabled, refer to Remote Authentication Setup
(If Required) on page 133.
Item By
An existing operational network utilizing TCP/IP is required. These
procedures are not designed to install a network.
Customer
Obtain and record the following information:
• IP address
• Gateway address
• Subnet mask
•Host name
Refer to the Glossary for additional information about the Gateway Address
and Subnet mask.
Customer
Templates and Repositories must be created via Internet Services or
Network Scanning Services.

Test the machine to make sure that it is installed fully and functioning
correctly.

Set up the FTP or SMB server.
FTP server
• Windows NT4.0 Server, Windows 2000 Server, and Windows Server
2003:
Microsoft IIS 3.0 or later FTP Service must be installed.
• Windows NT4.0 Workstation and Windows 2000 Professional:
Microsoft IIS 3.0 or later FTP Service or Microsoft Peer Web Service 3.0
or later FTP Service must be installed.
• NetWare 5.x FTP Service
For information on each FTP service setting, refer to the user guide
provided with the software.
SMB server
The following OS installed computers provide shared folder function:
• Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows Me
• Windows NT4.0/Windows 2000/ Windows XP/Windows Server 2003
