The utility displays the following screen and returns to the
MS-DOS prompt.
Usage: setcmos [ [/r] file /s file /n /d /v /h /? ]
/r file Restore from file and reboot
/s file Save to file
/n No reboot on restore
/d Don’t detect hard disk type
/v Display version
/h or /? This help message
Saves/restores CMOS RAM to/from a file.
Note: The /R switch is the default switch for the SETCMOS
command.
Restoring Factory Default CMOS Data
To restore the factory default CMOS configuration data file,
at the
MS-DOS C:\> prompt type
SETCMOS /R C:\UTILS\FACTORY.CMS
and press ENTER.
The factory default configuration values are restored in the
CMOS RAM, and the computer reboots itself. The factory
default file (
FACTORY.CMS) is stored on the hard disk under
the
/UTILS directory.
Note: You also can restore the factory default CMOS
configuration by press F4 at the Laptop Manager main
menu.
