7.11.1 Specifying confidential communication
Confidential communication function
Confidential communication is a function that allows you to use restricted ac-
cess boxes (similar to email accounts) to exchange private information with
specific people. Not only can you send a document to a restricted access
box of a destination (confidential transmission) but you can receive a docu-
ment in a confidential user box of your station (confidential reception). The
following sections describe the procedures for confidential transmission,
printing the document received in a confidential user box, and deleting the
document held in a confidential user box.

Specifications
Confidential communication is enabled in the utility mode. For details,
see “Function setting” on page 11-40.
Confidential transmission requires that the destination receiving the
transmission has a restricted access box and password defined for that
station's fax machine. The password may not be needed, depending on
the fax machine. If you intend to perform confidential reception, define a
confidential user box and password (see “Setting the confidential boxes”
on page 10-48) for your FK-502 and give this information to the receiving
station. Confidential TX can be used only when the destination (fax) with
which you communicate incorporates the F-code feature.
