Optional Features for Transmission
When you make a routine transmission, you can access a few optional features.
These options are only available if " OPTION " can be seen in the top right
corner of the display.
Personal Code
Personal Codes do the following.
❐ They allow you to keep track of machine usage (for example, for billing
purposes). If everybody uses a Personal Code when they use the fax
machine, the codes, or the names programmed into the codes, will be printed
on the report that is called the Journal. This will help you to check on who has
been using the machine, and how often.
❐ They allow personalization of documents and printed reports.
For example, if you use Label Insertion and store your name with your
Personal Code, the receiver of your fax message will see your name at the top
of the printout. This eliminates the need for a cover page.
❐ They allow you to restrict use of the machine to authorized personnel only. If
you switch the Restricted Access feature on, users have to enter their
personal code before they can use the machine. The personal code must have
already been stored in the machine. This may deter unauthorized personnel
from casually using the machine.
