Error messages and conditions
Startup (cont.)
System stops responding
at one of these screens.
Possibly one of the following:
Corrupt system software
•Faulty HDD
•Faulty motherboard
1. Recheck all cables and connections.
2. If the problem persists, restore backup system software
(see page 4-57).
3. If the problem persists, reinstall system software
(see page 4-59).
Corrupt system software may cause the system to stop
responding at this screen.
4. If the problem still persists, replace the HDD
(see page 4-48).
If replacing the HDD does not correct the problem,
reinstall the old HDD in the system.
5. If the problem persists, verify CPU and CPU fan
connection. If the problem persists, you may need to
replace the CPU (see page 4-36).
6. If the problem persists, you may need to replace the
motherboard (see page 4-22).
If replacing the motherboard does not correct the
problem, make sure you reinstall the old motherboard in
the ColorPASS.
Control Panel Messages
Check power & cable
appears on the Control
Panel.
Possibly one of the following:
The copier is not powered on.
The copier is on but is not ready to
print.
•Problem with the connection
between the ColorPASS and
the copier.
1. Make sure the copier is powered on and ready to print.
2. Recheck that the copier interface cable is present and
properly connected to the ColorPASS and the copier
(see page 3-3).
3. If the message still appears:
•Power off the copier.
Recycle power on the ColorPASS by shutting down through
the Functions menu, waiting 10 seconds, and then
powering the ColorPASS back on (see page 3-16).
One minute after the ColorPASS reaches Idle, power the
copier back on.
4. If the problem persists, replace the copier interface cable
(see page 3-3).
5. If the problem persists, replace the copier interface board
(see page 4-17).
6. If the problem persists, you may need to service
the copier.
