TO REPLACE THE FRONT PANEL
1. Make sure the Control Panel buttons are attached to the user interface board (see
page 4-55).
2. If you are replacing the old front panel with a new one, do the following:
•Transfer the jewel from the old front panel to the new one (see page 4-34)
•Transfer the speaker and the power and reset switches from the old front panel to the
new one
NOTE: Do not pull the cables when removing the speaker and the power and reset
switches from the old front panel. Make sure not to damage the prongs on the mounts
when removing the switches.

NOTE: Make sure to orient the power and reset buttons and switches correctly when
installing them. The power and reset buttons should be level with the surface of the front
panel when properly oriented.
3. If necessary, thread the power, reset, and speaker cables through the hole in the front of
the chassis, and then connect them to the appropriate pins on the motherboard.
(For connection locations on the motherboard, see Figure 4-15 on page 4-23.)
4. Align the UIB button holes on the front panel with the UIB buttons.
5. Align the tabs on the front panel with the slots in the front of the chassis.
6. Press the front panel against the chassis until it snaps into place.
