4. Replace the CPU cooling assembly:
5. Connect the CPU fan cable to the motherboard connector FAN1 or FAN4.
If you are installing a new CPU, secure the fan cable using a tie-wrap. The tie-wrap
prevents the fan cable from interfering with the CPU fan. Also, make sure the connector
on the cable is securely connected to the motherboard.
6. Reassemble the ColorPASS (see page 4-14) and verify its functionality (see page 4-16).
•Make sure the levers on the
clamp are in the open position
(spine up).
• Align the heatsink so that the fan
cable is near motherboard
connectors FAN1 and FAN4.
•Place the heatsink on the CPU
and inside the bracket.
Make sure the heatsink is fully
seated in the bracket on all sides.
•Press down on the clamp until all
four hooks engage the slots in the
bracket.
Avoid using excessive force when
pressing down on the clamp.
• Close the levers simultaneously.
Closing the levers simultaneously
applies clamping force equally
over the CPU and bracket.
