Verifying Audible Signal Before TX
This function is available when a telephone is connected to the fax. Manual Communication
allows you to verify that the line is connected with the audible signals heard from the speaker of
telephone.
This feature enables you to hear that the line has been properly connected.
Note: Manual transmission cannot be used in combination with Memory TX,
Broadcast TX, or other enhanced utilities.
Manual Transmission

Place the document into the Document Feeding Tray.

Pick up the telephone, you will hear a dial tone from the speaker of the telephone.
The display shows “*TALKING*”.

Dial the fax number. When the line is connected, the dial tone changes to a calling tone.

When you hear a fax answer tone, press the "Start" key. The fax then starts feeding the
document for transmission.

If you want to stop the transmission, press the "Stop" key.

Then press the "Yes" key.
After you canceled a transmission, the “TX RESULT REPORT’ is printed.

When the transmission is complete, the message “TX COMPLETE” is displayed briefly.
Note: If the line of the other party is busy, hang up the handset to cancel the
Manual Transmission mode.
Manual Reception

When using a telephone, the telephone also rings indicating that a call has been received.

Pick up the telephone. Make sure that you hear a fax answer tone from the speaker of the
telephone.

Press the "Start" key. Then, hang up the handset.
The machine starts the reception and prints the received documents.
To stop the reception, press the "Stop" key and then the "Yes" key.
Note: Before you can start receiving a transmission you must ensure that the
Document Feeding Tray is empty.
