• Case 3 – Backing up one complete channel
(both partial and full backup) (Figures 4-23 and
4-24). In this case, each tributary DSU in need of
service restoration must be equipped with a DBM
and the MCMP Backup configuration option must
be set to TDM, with only one port assigned
bandwidth. At the central site, an extended bridge
and a DBM-V for each tributary must be available.
(Refer to the Multipoint Dial Backup section of this
chapter.) Essentially, the backup becomes dial
backup of a single multipoint circuit.
