Troubleshooting
LCD Messages
The following messages are displayed in the LCD display when the
MultiPASS C70 is performing a function or encounters an error. The
error code appears in the Activity Report. (1 p. 11-5)
AUTO REDIAL
BLACK INK EMPTY
BUSY/NO SIGNAL

The unit is waiting to
redial the other party’s
number because the
line was busy or the
other party did not
answer when you tried
to send the document.
The BCI-21 Black BJ
tank in the BC-21e
Colour BJ cartridge is
empty or its ink may
have dried out.
The telephone number
you dialled is busy.
The fax number dialled
was incorrect.
The other party’s fax
machine is not
working.
Wait for the unit to
try redialling. If that
does not work, wait
until the unit starts to
dial the number, then
press the Stop button
to cancel redialling.
Try to send the
document again at a
later time.
Clean the BJ cartridge
print head
(1 p. 12-17). If the
message remains in
the LCD display,
replace the BJ tank
(1 p. 12-26). The unit
will then print
automatically any
faxes received in
memory.
Try sending the
document at a later
time.
Check the fax number
and dial again.
Contact the other
party and have them
check their fax
machine.
