10. Pick the “Replace” button. This should replace the old DAC S-Command with this new one.
11. Now pick the “OK” button.
12. In the “Macro Data” scroll box again, select line “053”, this is the VXR-5000 high power macro. Then pick the “Edit
Macro” button.
13. Repeat steps 8, 9 and 10 for the high power setting.
14. You are now ready to update the controller. Pick the “Send” button, than pick the “Start” button. The software will send
these macro modifications to the controller.
You are done. You have just modified two macros. You can use this same process to create user commands along with may
other features in the controller.
VXR-5000 ACCESSORY CONNECTOR “ACC”
The RI-310 used the 25-pin “ACC” connector to provide
various inputs and outputs. Only pins 1 through 13 of the 25-
pin connector are used. The following is a list of the
connector pins and functions.
1.
Digital Ground
………... Chassis ground for all digital
inputs and outputs.
2.
+12 Volts Output
……... This is a ½ amp output from
the regulated supply. Please
use fuse protection.
3.
Digital Input Bit 1
…….. This is a user programmable digital input. See S-Command 45 for additional information.
4.
Digital Input Bit 2
….…. This is a user programmable digital input. See S-Command 45 for additional information.
5.
Audio Output
…………. This is a receiver audio output and is programmable with S-Command 34. This output can be
set for either discriminator or de-emphasis audio. The audio on this output is 0dbm or
0.774Vrms for 5KHz Deviation. See section 16, “Setting Up Audio Channels” for audio
selection. You can also use this output to connect to another RI-310 audio input for a link or
remote.
6.
Audio Input
…………… This is audio input that can be routed to the transmitter and is programmed with S-Command
35. The audio on this input should not exceed 0dbm or 0.774Vrms for 5KHz Deviation.
Normally with the RI-310’s Auxiliary buss, you can select input channels to use. But, with this
input, audio in is enabled when any of the auxiliary buss channels are enabled. This input can
be set for either flat FM modulation to the transmitter or with pre-emphasis. See section 16,
“Setting Up Audio Channels” for audio selection. You can also use this input to connect to
another RI-310 audio output for a link or remote.
7.
Audio Ground
………… Use this to connect to the shields of your audio cable.
8.
Digital Input Bit 3
….…. This is a user programmable digital input. See S-Command 45 for additional information. This
input will also support an active low COS input for the above audio input. See S-Command 92,
mode 7 for more information on this feature.
9.
Dig. Out Bit 1 / DAC 2
..
This is a user programmable digital output. See S-Command 46 & 47 for additional
information. When the VXR-5000 is operated as a simplex remote base, this output bit is used
to operate a TX/RX relay. This pin can also be jumped to output the DAC #2 signal. See S-
Command 13 for information on controlling this output. To make the jumper changes, you must
remove the interface board from the controller and locate the jumper marked "DIG/DAC"
10.
Digital Output Bit 2
…..
This is a user programmable digital output. See S-Command 46 & 47 for additional
information.
11.
Digital Output Bit 3
…..
This is a user programmable digital output. See S-Command 46 & 47 for additional
information. This output will also support an active low PTT output for the above audio output.
See S-Command 92, mode 7 for more information on this feature.
12.
Buss Req
….……………
This signal is used to tell other controllers when data is ready.
13.
S-DATA
………...……...
This signal is used to send serial data to other controllers when multiple controllers are
connected together.
