Introducing the Web Configurator
This chapter describes how to access the embedded web configurator and view
general switch information.
3.1 Accessing the Web Configurator
Follow the steps below to access the web configurator.
Step 1. Make sure your switch is properly connected (refer to instructions in
Chapter 2).
Step 2. Prepare your computer to connect to the switch. Set your computer to use a
static IP address in the same subnet as the IP address of the switch (refer to
the Setting Your Computer’s IP Address appendix).
Step 3. Launch your Internet Explorer.
You must use Internet Explorer 5.0 or later versions.
Step 4. Type "192.168.1.1"as the URL.
Step 5. Type “admin” (default) as the user name and "1234" (default) as the
password and click OK.

Step 5. You should now see the welcome screen as shown next.
