Configuring IP Unicast Routing
This chapter describes how to configure IP Version 4 (IPv4) unicast routing on the Cisco ME 3400
Ethernet Access switch.
Note Routing is supported only on switches that are running the metro IP access image.
For more detailed IP unicast configuration information, see the Cisco IOS IP Configuration Guide,
Release 12.2 For complete syntax and usage information for the commands used in this chapter, see these

Note When configuring routing parameters on the switch to allocate system resources to maximize the number
of unicast routes allowed, you should use the sdm prefer default global configuration command to set
the Switch Database Management (sdm) feature to balance resource. The Layer-2 template does not
support routing and forces any routing to be done through software. This overloads the CPU and severely
