VPN Virtual Private Network. A computer network in which some of the
links between nodes are carried by open connections or virtual cir-
cuits in some larger networks (such as the Internet), as opposed to
running across a single private network.
VRRP Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol. A router multiplexing proto-
col. Two or more routers are configured as a default gateway. One
router will automatically take over if the other router is faulty.
WAN Wide Area Network. Using a telephone line or dedicated line two
connect two or more computers in a geographically different loca-
tion.
