System Setup
You can change various settings on the machine through the
Machine Setup or Fax Setup menus.
Machine Setup Options
Option Description
TRAY 1 SIZE The printing paper size for fax reception you are loading in the tray –
LTR (letter), A4, or LGL (legal).
TRAY 2 SIZE*
(*Available only if you install
an optional tray)
The printing paper size for fax reception you are loading in the
optional tray – LTR (letter), A4, or LGL (legal).
BYPASS SIZE The printing paper size for fax reception you are loading in the
bypass tray – LTR (letter), A4, or LGL (legal).
NOTE: If feeding media smaller than A4/Letter through the bypass
tray, the setting can remain set at A4, Letter or Legal size.
AUTO JOURNAL A report with detailed information about the previous 50 communica-
tions operations, including time and dates. Optional settings are ON
or OFF.
RECEIVE CODE The Receive Code allows you to initiate fax reception from an exten-
sion phone plugged into the EXT jack on the back of the FaxCentre.
If you pick up the extension phone and hear fax tones, enter the
Receive Code. The Receive Code is preset to *9* at the factory. Set-
tings range from 0 to 9.
POWER SAVE The power save menu item lets you reduce power usage when the
FaxCentre is idle.
The LCD display prompts you to choose the length of time the Fax-
Centre waits after a job is printed before it switches to a reduced
power state. The time can be 5, 10, 15, 30 or 45 minutes.
Select OFF to turn this feature off. It keeps the FaxCentre ready to
print with minimum warm-up time.
ECM MODE Error Correction Mode compensates for poor line quality. Options
are ON or OFF. If the line quality is poor, transmission time may be
increased when ECM is enabled.
