ALTERNATE HOST CONFIGURATION
General Information
This section describes how to configure the ULTRA from an alternate host.
Sending (printing) a file containing configuration command sequences
while in alternate host configuration mode will alter the configuration
selections listed in Section 5  Configuration Options. Changes can also be
made to the PFSs described in Section 6  Programmable Function Strings
and to the translate tables described in Section 7  Translate Tables.
Before any configuration changes can be made through the alternate host
port, the ULTRA alternate host port must be configured using Option #50.
Refer to Section 8  Front Panel Configuration or Section 9  Coax Host
Configuration for instructions. Users with an alternate host connected via
serial interfacing must also set dip switches B1 and B2 to match the parity
of the serial interface and dip switches B3, B4 and B5 to match the baud
rate of the serial interface.
To make configuration changes through the alternate host port, set dip
switches B7 and B8 in the ON (down) position, then press the RESET
button on the ULTRA front panel. The POWER and DATA OUT Status
Indicator Lights will be the only ones on during alternate host configuration
mode.
After all configuration changes have been made, set dip switches B7 and B8
in the OFF (up) position and press the RESET button on the ULTRA front
panel. The Status Indicator Lights will confirm that the unit is in normal
operating mode. Check that the configuration is correct by pressing the
TEST button on the ULTRA front panel to print out a General
Configuration Report.
