PFS Descriptions
The following is a complete list of PFSs currently offered. A description of
when each PFS is triggered by the host application is included, although
PFSs can also be triggered by the user at any time.
0  Power On Sequence
The contents of the Power On Sequence PFS are sent to the printer each
time the ULTRA is powered on or RESET. The Power On Sequence is also
sent to the printer when a ¢&0 [Trigger 1-ampersand-zero] that the user
has embedded in the data stream is encountered by the ULTRA.
1  6 LPI or User-defined
When a host line density command (2B C6 02 nn) is detected and nn is 0C
(0Ch = 12/72nds), the contents of this PFS are output to the printer. Note:
This command will be seen only in an SCS data stream. The 6 LPI PFS will
also be sent to the printer when a ¢&1 [Trigger 1-ampersand-one] that the
user has embedded in the data stream is encountered by the ULTRA. If the
user is certain that the host never sets line density, the user may program
this PFS for any purpose.
2  8 LPI or User-defined
When a host line density command (2B C6 02 nn) is detected and nn is 09
(09h = 9/72nds), the contents of this PFS are output to the printer. Note:
This command will be seen only in an SCS data stream. The 8 LPI PFS will
also be sent to the printer when a ¢&2 [Trigger 1-ampersand-two] that the
user has embedded in the data stream is encountered by the ULTRA. If the
user is certain that the host never sets line density, the user may program
this PFS for any purpose.
3  DisplayWrite 370 Overstriking On or User-defined
If a [character-backspace-different character] sequence is detected in the
data stream, this PFS is sent to the printer. Note: This is used only when
Option #15  Bold Print Emulation is set to (A) 3287 emulation or
(B)DisplayWrite 370 emulation. The Overstriking On PFS will also be sent
to the printer when a ¢&3 [Trigger 1-ampersand-three] that the user has
embedded in the data stream is encountered by the ULTRA. If the user is
certain that the host never turns on overstriking, or if Option #15 has been
set to (C) None, the user may program this PFS for any purpose.
