Check the connection speed to see if it is checked off.
The operation of some computers could be unstable if the connection
speed is set for 4Mbps. Click the “Limit connection speed to” check box
on, and then select 115.2kbps from the drop-down list box.
Is the printer positioned at the correct distance and angle
from the computer?
The printer must be located at the correct distance and angle from the
computer in order for the infra-red interface to operate correctly. For
details, see “Using the infra-red data transmisson”. (☞35)
Check to see if you are using anything other than PC/AT
compatible
The computer must be PC/AT compatible to print by using infrared
communication. It cannot be executed with a Macintosh.
Make sure the correct port is selected to receive data
Make sure that COM4: (Infrared Serial (COM) Port) is selected in the
data receiving printer port to print by infrared communication.
Selecting any port other than this port will cause an error.
The number of the serial port (COM4) may differ, depending on the
operating system environment.
