Cannot feed manually
If you cannot feed paper or other media with manual feed, check the
points below. Press the RESUME button to resume printing after
correcting the cause of the problem.
Is the paper set correctly?
If the top edge of the sheet is too small or if the sheet is not straight, the
printer will beep once and the CHARGE/ERROR lamp will flash. Pull the
sheet out of the manual feed slot and try to insert the sheet straight into
the printer with the left edge aligned with the left side of the manual feed
slot. When the paper is inserted correctly, it will return slightly and the
printer will not beep.
Is Auto Feeder selected for the Paper Feed in the printer
driver?
In order to feed paper manually, Manual Feed must be selected in the
printer driver.

If the paper or media
is curled, flatten it
and align the left
edge with the left
side of the front
cover, and insert
straight into the
printer.
Never load the following
type of paper in the Feed
Slot.
Excessively thin paper
(64g/m
2
or less)
Excessively thick paper
(106g/m
2
or more)
Postcards
Thick envelopes (use only
European DL or US
Com#10)
Punched or heavily
embossed paper
Move the paper
guide to the correct
mark for the size of
the sheet that you
are loading.
