Installation checklist
Installation summary
and checklist
The following DW4020 components are installed:
• Antennas (outdoor unit or ODU)
• Coaxial cable (IFL)
• DW4020
The main tasks required to install an DW4020 are summarized
below. For Web commissioning, the customer should have an
analog phone line and a functioning Ethernet interface.
Assemble the DW4020 components. These consist of the receive and transmit
modems, and the Gateway.
Connect the DW4020 to installer laptop PC Ethernet and power up DW4020.
Connect the installer laptop PC via USB and run Websetup to establish operating
parameters.
Register the end user and select subscription options via Websetup.
Record site ID, Gateway IP address, subnet mask, and service offering on cover
of User Guide.
Transfer of parameter information to Gateway. Exit Websetup.
Assemble and install the satellite antenna. Run cables from the outdoor components
to the indoor equipment. Clearly label the receive and transmit coaxial cable at the
antenna, ground block, and modem connectors.
Complete antenna pointing and auto cross-polarization (ACP).
Disconnect installer laptop PC and connect the Gateway to the receive modem
with USB cable. Connect the customer computer to the Gateway via Ethernet
cable.
Verify customer operation, information recorded on User Guide cover, and
receive and transmit cable labeling. Optional: assist in customer computer
configuration.
