5 Open the levers on both sides of the slot and insert the memory module.
Align a notch of the memory module to correspond with the memory slot and insert the module
perpendicularly to the slot.
When the module is correctly inserted, the levers on both sides will close. Check to see whether
the module is securely placed. If the levers are not closed completely, push them with your
fingers to close.
6 Attach the ventilation system cover and top cover.

7 Return the server to the rack.
8 Initialize the Extended System Configuration Data (ESCD).
On the [Advanced] menu of the BIOS Setup Utility, set [Reset Configuration Data] to [Yes].

9 Store the BIOS settings.

• An improperly engaged memory module could cause a fire. Do not insert the
memory module on the wrong side.
