Notes
When a custom-made internal backup device is purchased, it is attached to 3.5-inch storage bays 4 and 5.
A SCSI card (PG-130L or PG-128) is required to install an internal backup device.
When the server is equipped with an internal backup device, you can install up to three internal hard
disk units.
Do not install any internal hard disk unit in bay 6.
Installation Order in 3.5-inch Storage Bays
For the option installation order in 3.5-inch storage bays including internal hard disk units, refer to
"7.6.1 Internal Hard Disk Unit Installation Positions and Order" (
pg.202).
• Before installation, turn off the server and peripheral devices. Unplug the
power cables from the outlets. Failure to do so may cause electric shock
("1.4.3 Turning Off the Server" (pg.33)).
The circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed. They
can be damaged by static electricity.
Before handling them, first touch a metal part of the server to discharge static
electricity.
Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold the metallic parts
or the edges of the circuit boards.
