4 Install an internal backup device.
1. Insert the internal backup device with the handle raised.
2. Pull down the handle and securely insert the device.
5 Remove the SCSI cable used to connect the SCSI back panel to the
baseboard.
6 Connect the SCSI cable supplied with the internal backup device to the SCSI
back panel, and then connect it to the SCSI card.
When connecting the SCSI cable to the SCSI card through the SCSI back panel, pass it between
sponges on the side of the fan cage.
For connection examples of internal backup devices, refer to "7.11.1 Connection Examples of Internal
Option Devices" (pg.216).
The internal backup device does not support the hot swap and hot plug.
■ How to Remove the Internal Backup Device
To remove the internal backup device, simply reverse the installation procedures.
