Procedure 3 Connector Check and Replacement Check
The optical disk drive is installed in the system board. The drive may be disconnected, or the
drive or system board may be damaged. Disassemble the computer following the steps described
in Chapter 4, Replacement Procedures and perform the following checks:
Check 1 Make sure the drive is properly installed in the Slim Select Bay of the computer.

If the drive have not been properly installed, install it properly and repeat Procedure 2.
If there is still an error, go to Check 2.
Check 2 The drive may be defective or damaged. Replace the drive with a new one following
the steps in Chapter 4, Replacement Procedures. If the drive is still not functioning
properly, perform Check 3.
Check 3 The Slim Select Bay or the system board may be damaged. Replace them with new
ones following the instructions in Chapter 4, Replacement Procedures.
