Step 23. Remove the Ethernet cable from the SNC 5100 and install the
Ethernet loop back plug.
Step 24. From the service terminal, enter the
diagBoot command.
For more information, see “Entering Diagnostic Mode” on
page 187.
Step 25. Wait for the SNC 5100 to finish booting.
Step 26. Verify that the
diagmode> prompt is displayed.
Step 27. From the service port, enter the
elTest command.
Example:
diagmode > elTest

Init complete.
Ethernet OK

Step 28. If the test fails, replace the SNC 5100.
Go to “Before Removing or Replacing the Unit” on page 82.
Continue through “Replacing the SNC 5100” on page 84.
Exit this MAP.
If the test passes, remove the Ethernet loop back plug.
Proceed to Step 29.
Step 29. From the service terminal, enter the
normalBoot command and
wait for the SNC 5100 to finish booting.
Step 30. Reattach the Ethernet cable to the SNC 5100.
Step 31. From the service terminal, enter the
gateAddrGet command and
write down the network gateway address that is displayed.

Step 32. Compare this address to the one provided by the network
administrator.
