SETUP SEND
Manual Transmission (With an External Telephone)
Manual transmission lets you hear the dial tone, ringing and fax receiving tones
before sending the fax.

Place the original face up in the ADF, or face down on the scanner glass.

Pick up the handset of the external phone and listen for a dial tone.

Enter the fax number you want to call. (You can enter the digits using the dial
pad, One Touch, Speed Dial or Search). (See One Touch Dialing, page 7-4.)

When you hear the fax tone, press Start.

Replace the handset of the external phone.
Automatic Transmission
This is the easiest way to send a fax.

Place the original face up in the ADF, or face down on the scanner glass.

Enter the fax number using the dial pad, One Touch, Speed Dial or Search.
(See Speed Dialing, page 7-4.)

Press Start.
Color Fax transmission
Your Multi-Function Center allows you to transmit a color fax.

Place the original face up in the ADF, or face down on the scanner glass.

Press Fax Resolution to select the Color Fax.

Enter the fax number using the dial pad, One Touch, Speed Dial or Search.

Press Start.
Manual and Automatic Fax Redial
If you’re sending a fax manually and the line is busy, press Redial/Pause to
redial the number.

Press Redial/Pause.

Press Start.
If you’re sending a fax automatically and the line is busy, the MFC will
automatically redial up to three times at 5 minute intervals.
When you send a color fax, the MFC starts sending the fax without scanning
the original into memory.
