Calculating the Adjustment Angle
If you need to adjust the document guide angle, you first need to determine which
way to adjust it and by how much. For example, in the example shown above:
The adjusting angle = (scale A - scale B) / 4
For example:
If scale A starts at line 0, then 0 × 0.4 = 0; the value for
scale A = 0
If scale B starts at line 2, then 2 × 0.4 = 0.8; the value for
scale B = 0.8
(0 - 0.8)/4 = -0.2
In this example, the angle you need to adjust the adjust pin is -0.2
To adjust the angle:
1. Use a screwdriver to turn the adjust pin to
the number you calculated (-0.2 in the
previous example).
2. To confirm the angle, repeat the steps
under “Scanning with the Document
Guide.” Once you’ve confirmed the
angle, it’s a good idea to write it down for
future reference.
