Alarms and Events window for the “Server Repaired” event.
Repairing a server does not correct the underlying problem that caused the server's reported state to
change. Rather, it is a means for the administrator to notify the server that the underlying problem has
been corrected or dismissed. It is an “alarm reset”.
5.2.2. Reinitializing a Server
Reinitializing a server causes it to re-read all or part of its configuration metadata and reset its internal
representation of those values. In many cases reinitialization is all that is needed to cause a server to start
using a new configuration. In other cases it may be necessary to restart a server to cause it to use a new
configuration.
HPSS servers vary widely in their support of the reinitialization function. The following table lists the
behavior of each HPSS server when it is told to reinitialize.
