6.4.2 Requirements for Roaming
The following requirements must be met in order for wireless stations to roam between the
coverage areas.
1. All the routers must be on the same subnet and confi gured with the same ESSID.
2. If IEEE 802. lx user authentication is enabled and to be done locally on the router,
the new router must have the user profi le for the wireless station.
3. The adjacent routers should use different radio channels when their coverage
areas overlap.
4. All routers must use the same port number to relay roaming information.
5. The routers must be connected to the Ethernet and be able to get IP addresses
from a DHCP server if using dynamic IP address assignment.
To enable roaming on your WR3000 wireless router, click ADVANCED, WIRELESS and
then the Roaming tab. The screen appears as shown.
