Problems Printing or Copying Possible Cause(s)
No printing
Printing is interrupted.
Paper or document jam, no paper or toner cartridge.
Follow the instructions on the display.
There could be a small pause after printing several pages.
The device continues printing automatically.
Copy is blank. Insert the documents face down into the document
feeder.
No toner cartridge inserted.
The device produces white lines when printing. Clean the toner drum with a soft cloth.
Clean the scanner and the document feeder (see also
chapter Cleaning, page 75).
The device produces black lines when printing. Clean the scanner and the document feeder (see also
chapter Cleaning, page 75).
The toner cartridge is damaged and must be replaced.
Use only original consumable materials.
The device produces vertical lines when printing. It is possible that the scanner needs calibrating (see also
chapter Calibrating the Scanner, page 75).
The device makes a noise during printing. The toner cartridge is almost empty and must be re-
placed. Use only original consumable materials.
Received faxes and copies are too light. The sender’s device is not set optimally.
If the copy is also too light the toner is almost all gone
and must be replaced. Use only original consumable ma-
terials.
