Replicating Data in a Mirrored Volume
If one child of a mirrored volume, the source, already contains data, the data
can be replicated to the second child, the destination, using the CLI command
volume mirror sync. This is done on-line while the source volume is still
exposed. See how to expose volumes Chapter 7 “Volume Exposure &
Security”.
Data can also be replicated offline using the CLI command volume copy
create. On-line data replication is slower but allows the source volume to
remain on-line with no interruption of service to the volume host(s). Off-line
replication is faster than on-line replication but both the source and destination
volumes must be off-line which can create an interruption of service to the
volume host(s).
