Marking Packet Priority
Refer to section Priority Marking for information about marking packet priority.
Marking packet priority can be implemented in the following two ways:
z Through traffic policing
When configuring traffic policing, you can define the action of marking the DSCP precedence for
packets exceeding the traffic specification. Refer to section
Configuring Traffic Policing.
z Through the traffic-priority command
You can use the traffic priority command to mark the IP precedence, 802.1p priority, DSCP
precedence, and local precedence of the packets.
Configuration prerequisites
The following items are defined or determined before the configuration:
z The ACL rules used for traffic classification have been specified. Refer to the ACL module of this
manual for related information.
z The type and value of the precedence to be marked for the packets matching the ACL rules have
been determined.
z The port or VLAN on which the configuration is to be performed has been determined.
