All three switches are equipped with diagnostics to monitor the
status of the primary, redundant, and switch controllers, and the
primary elements. If the primary supervisor fails, the redundant
supervisor takes over switch operation until you replace the primary
supervisor. If the primary controller fails, the redundant controller
takes over switch operation until you replace the primary controller.
Information about a failed supervisor (CPU) displays in the
Redundancy window.
When an element fails, diagnostics run automatically and test the
hardware. Information about a failed controller or element displays
in the Switch Fabric Status window in the Web Agent. The
redundant element takes over the function of the failed element
until you replace the element.
