4520/4520mp User’s Guide
This chapter lists some problems you might encounter while
using your 4520/4520mp, and provides some possible
solutions to these problems. This chapter will help you
troubleshoot problems associated with:
Displayed control panel messages
Paper transportation
Printer operation
Deterioration of print quality
If you encounter a problem, locate the type of problem in this
section and perform the suggested corrective actions. If you
are unable to resolve the problem, contact your dealer or
Xerox / Rank Xerox for service.
Before calling for service, be sure you have thoroughly
reviewed the troubleshooting section provided for your type
of problem and have performed the suggested corrective
actions.
When calling for service, be prepared to provide the
following information:
The serial number of the printer. See
“Locating Your
Printer’s Serial Number” (page 7-4)

Your name and your company’s name
A description of the problem, including the severity of the
problem:
Critical
Printer is down and/or user has no production
capability
– inability of a critical application (job) to run
– frequency of failure precludes production use
– critical integrity defect
