synchronizes
both
the AMASS File System
Database and the library’s
interface.

Enter length of tape in the
AMASS File System Database for
a volume number.

volformat
For example:
volformat -p 34
Format the volume (34).
NOTE: Not applicable for CDs.
If you are using a standalone
drive, you must format the volume
from the sysop interface. For
information on this interface, refer
to the Interface to Standalone
Drives chapter in
Accessing
Storage Devices
.

volstat
For example:
volstat -a 34
Mark the volume (34) ACTIVE
(
-a) so AMASS can read and
write to it.
