Softswitches
Any time the RFI shield is removed from the printer, or when
softswitches are reset to defaults, the country code softswitch must be
reset.
Extended Service mode allows you to change softswitches on the
printer. A softswitch is a set of one to eight bits (a sequence of eight 1s
and 0s), as needed. See the software technical reference for a
complete list of softswitches.
To change the country code softswitch
1 Press BACKSPACE#** to gain access to the Extended Service
menu.
2 Press < or > until
MEMORY/SOFTSWITCHES appears below SERVICE
on the control panel.
3 Press E
NTER/MENU.
4 If
SOFTSWITCHES does not appear below MEMORY/SOFTSWITCHES
on the control panel, press < or > until it appears.
5 Press E
NTER/MENU.
6 Use the keypad to enter 101 (the country code softswitch).
7 Press E
NTER/MENU.
8 Use the keypad to enter the sequence that corresponds to the
country in which the product is used. (See the list of country code
softswitch sequences on the following page.)
