Service mode overview
Service mode allows service personnel to verify and manipulate internal
printer settings and to access the diagnostic feature. Service mode
should be used only by authorized service personnel.
You can perform the following tasks while in Service mode:
Print a Service mode self-test.
Verify the page count.
Set the page count.
Set the maintenance count.
Set the maintenance interval.
Verify and set the serial number.
Set the cold reset default. This sets the factory default paper size to
either Letter or A4.
Turn the diagnostic function on or off (for software developer use
only).
Clear the event log.
Use the Extended Service mode.
Reset softswitches.
Perform a firmware download.
Recalibrate the document scanner.
Set the page count at which the next
PERFORM PRINTER
MAINTENANCE
message appears on the control panel.
Set the demo page = true/false (used to remove the demo page
from the Service mode self-test).
Adjust the top margin.
