Sending a Fax

Load the document you want to send in the Duplex
Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) or on the scanner
glass. See “Loading Document(s) for Faxing” on page 2.3.

Make sure that the machine is in the fax idle mode. If
necessary, press
Fax
to enter the fax idle mode.

You can use
Resolution
,
Original Type
,
Darkness
and/or
Duplex
to choose the appropriate sending condition for the
document. For details, see “Adjusting the Document
Settings” on page 2.6.

Use the number keypad to enter the number of the remote
fax machine.
If you make a mistake while entering a number, use
Stop/
Clear
.
You can store Speed dial numbers so that you can dial them
with one or two-digit numbers. See “Speed Dialling” on
page 4.5.

Press
Start
.
The document scans into memory. If the document is
placed on the scanner glass, the display asks if you want to
send another page. Place the next page on the glass and
select “Yes” if you have more than one page to send. If not,
select “No”. The scanned page(s) will be sent immediately.

OTE
:
You can cancel a fax job while it is faxing by pressing
Stop/Clear
twice.
