SHOW LOG
Syntax
show log
Parameters
None
Mode
Privileged Exec mode
Description
Use this command to display the messages in the buffered event log. The
event messages are displayed from oldest to newest, one screen at a
time. To cancel the display, type ‘q’ for quit. You cannot filter the log for
specific types of messages. An example of the log is shown in Figure 95.

Parameter Description
Date/Time The date and time the message was
entered in the event log.
Facility This is always “user.”
Severity The severity of the message. The severity
levels are:
Information: Useful information that
can be ignored during normal
operation.
Error: Switch operation is severely
impaired.
