Ultra Violet Inspection Lamp
An optional tool used to detect dust and contamination is the ultra violet inspection light. The
Bayco UV Inspection Lamp, 13 watt twin tube plug-in model shown below is one example of a
low-cost model that works well. In the US service providers can order the lamp at: http://www.

The UV inspection lamp can be used to highlight contaminates that may not be easily viewed
under normal lighting conditions. Dim or turn o the normal task lighting and turn on the UV
inspection lamp. Pass the UV inspection lamp over the glass panel and note any dust particles or
contaminates that would be objectionable to the customer. Wipe the microber cloth over the
area where the contaminates have been observed to determine whether they are on the outside
or inside surface of the glass.
