Some advice about
colour printing
Printing speed and colour
Printing in colour affects the speed with which the printer creates an image.
Many factors affect printing speed:
■ Choice of colour and the number of colours on a page
■ Computer processing speed
■ Amount of computer memory available
■ The software application
■ Complexity of the page being printed
■ Coverage (the amount of the page covered by ink)
■ Print options selected in the print setup feature
■ Resolution selected for printing with the print setup feature
■ The print mode that you are using
■ Whether or not a print spooling program is being used
To improve printing speed, try one of the following measures:
■ Increase the amount of memory in your computer
■ To free more memory space, use only one software application at a time
in a multi-task environment
■ Limit the number of colours used on a page
■ Limit the number of colours to the primary colours: black, cyan, magenta,
yellow
■ When you are in a hurry, use draft mode printing
■ Print drafts in black only, or use draft colour mode. This will speed up
printing and reduce your colour BJ Cartridge ink consumption
