Preface
Alert messages in the text
In the text, alert messages are indented to distinguish then from regular text. A wider
space precedes and follows the message to show where the message begins and ends.
The important alert messages are listed in the "Important Alert Messages" table in the
section titled, "NOTE ON SAFETY" after "Preface."
Reader Feedback
Certain tasks in this manual should only be performed by a certified
service engineer. Users must not perform these tasks. Incorrect
operation of these tasks may cause electric shock, injury, or fire.

z Mounting/de-mounting of optional internal devices
z Plugging or unplugging of external interface cards
z Maintenance and inspections (repairing, and regular diagnosis and
maintenance)
In this manual, it is assumed that two BMMs (optional products) can be connected to a single I/O
unit; this is reflected both in the explanations and in the figures included in this manual. At
present, however, the PRIMEQUEST 480/400 series supports only connection to one BMM
(BMM#0) per I/O unit.
The screen images in this manual may be different from the actual screen images.
