3.21 FDD Cleaning
3.21.1 Function Description
This function cleans the heads in the 3.5-inch FDD by executing a series of head load/seek and read
operations. A cleaning disk is necessary to perform this program.
3.21.2 Operations
1. Selecting test 4-HEAD CLEANING from the DIAGNOSTIC MENU and pressing
Enter displays the following messages:
DIAGNOSTICS – FLOPPY DISK HEAD CLEANING : V6.00
Mount cleaning disk(s) on drive(s).
Press any key when ready.
2. Remove the Diagnostics Disk from the FDD, then insert the cleaning disk and press Enter.
3. When the following message appears, the FDD head cleaning has begun.

4. The display automatically returns to the DIAGNOSTIC MENU when the program is
completed.
