Copy
Paper Type
You can use special media such as inkjet, transparency, and photo
paper as well as plain paper. After loading any special type of
media, set the paper type using this menu:

Press Setup. The display shows “1.SYSTEM SETUP” on the
bottom line.

Press the Scroll buttons ( or ) until you see “3. COPY
SETUP” and then press Enter.

Press the Scroll buttons ( or ) until you see “PAPER
TYPE” on the bottom line of the display.

Press Enter. The current setting is tagged with a at the end
of the display on the bottom line.

Press the Scroll buttons ( or ) until you see the paper
type you are using in the display.

Press Enter to save the selection.
Loading the Original Documents
You can use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or the
document glass to load an original document for sending, copying
and scanning.
Your ADF can load up to 30 sheets at a time. When you load
multipage documents of the same thickness and weight, you can
use the ADF.
If you want to load booklet, pamphlet, or documents having
unusual characteristics, you have to use the document glass and
load one sheet at a time. On the document glass, you can load the
following types of documents:
• Thick paper
• Document with uneven surface
• Photographs
• Small documents (e.g. business cards, postcards)
• Special types of paper
