ThischapterdescribestheSystemModule.
TheDEVICE_IDregisteroftheSystemModulecontainsasoftwarereadableversionoftheJTAGID
device.Softwarecanusethisregistertodeterminetheversionofthedeviceonwhichitisexecuting.The
registerformatanddescriptionareshowninthedevice-specificdatamanual.
TheSystemModulecontainsregistersforcontrollingpinmultiplexingandregistersthatreflecttheboot
configurationstatus.
TheDM643xDMPmakesextensiveuseofpinmultiplexingtoaccommodatethelargenumberof
peripheralfunctionsinthesmallestpossiblepackage.Acombinationofhardwareconfiguration
(configurationpinslatchedatdevicereset)andregisterprogramcontrol(PINMUX0andPINMUX1
registers)controlspinmultiplexingtoaccomplishthis.Hardwaredoesnotattempttoensurethatthe
properpinmultiplexingisselectedfortheperipheralsorthatinterfacemodeisbeingused.
