5.10.3.27 Code 49
The “Code 49” bar code is a multiple-row bar c ode t hat can e ncode the f ull ASCII
characte r set below ASCII 1 28. Up to 49 al phanumer ic char acters or 81 numeri c
characte rs can be encoded into two to eight rows. Each row is divided by a separat or
bar. The top and bottom of the s ymbol also have s epar ato r bar s t hat exte nd to the
ends of the minimum quiet zones.

Minimum And Maximum Length
The length of a co de re fer s t o the number of character s ( i.e., h uman readable
characte rs), includi ng check digit (s). Double-tappi ng on these paramet ers displa ys a
screen in which you can set the minimum and maximum allowable code lengths – 1
to 81.
